Two years after 9/11 America took out
the ruthless dictator of Iraq, Saddam Hussein. This was the first major
milestone in the War on Terror. Saddam was captured like a rat while
hiding in a two room spider hole beneath a mud shack on a sheep farm.
Approximately two years later Saddam was hanged in Baghdad.
In early 2011, another milestone in the War on Terror was reached when military forces entered Pakistan without their knowledge and found Osama bin Laden within his compound. The SEAL team entered the room where bin Laden was found. Bin Laden was armed and using one of his multiple wives as a human shield. She was taken in the line of fire along with bin Laden and one of his adult sons.
This topic reminds me of considering whether the ends justify the means. That could be an interesting topic right there. Ethics and morals ... The difference is interesting.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, specifically, it reminds me of this interview on veterans day of the navigator on the plane that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima. Deep stuff.

ReplyDeleteTerrorism is a very bad thing. I like the progress made on trying to stop it. The day Bin Laden was killed, I watched the speech from President Obama and was very happy.
ReplyDeleteBryan, I like the way you started off your blog. It was clear, precise and it set the stage for the rest of the blog. Also, the terrorism part was very interesting.
ReplyDeleteNice layout and pictures. It is good that these events have been taken and terrorism is in the process of being limited through these events. Good job.
ReplyDeleteThe effects of terrorism have hit America several times before. The most devastating being "9-11". I think that any action needed to eliminate terrorism in America should be allowed. Great post.
ReplyDeleteI think the war on terror has had a very positive effect on the world with all the things it has assisted in removing. I like the set up of your blog and think all the information you are presenting is interesting. You are definitely the right person to have a blog on terrorism.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very touchy subject in the USA! BRYAN CIUS is the man to put this topic to rest. Keep up the great work ex-skullet.
ReplyDeleteI think it's pretty insane how Osama bin Laden was taken care of. The courage and dedication of those Navy SEALs was impressive.
